Obit of Kathryn A. Grieder

Kathryn A. Grieder, 91 of Chatsworth passed away at 12:01PM Wednesday February 23, 2011 at the Fairview Haven Nursing Home in Fairbury.



Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday February 26, 2011 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chatsworth with Jerry Gentes, Minister of Pastoral Care officiating. Visitation will be 4:00PM to 6:00PM Friday February 25, 2011 at the Martin Funeral Home in Chatsworth, and also one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, OSF Hospice or Fairview Haven Nursing Home in Fairbury. Interment will be at the Chatsworth Cemetery.



Kathryn was born July 15, 1919 in Piper City a daughter of Henry and Augusta (Meisenhelder) Gerdes. She graduated from Piper City High School, and married Cleotis Grieder, January 27, 1940 in Chatsworth. He preceded her death on June 18, 1988.



She is survived by: one daughter: Sandra (Richard) Friedman of Fairbury, one son: Donald “Donnie” Grieder of Chatsworth; Two grandchildren: Kevin Friedman of Fairbury and Krista Friedman of Heyworth; Five great-grandchildren: Janelle Rafferty of Tuscola, Michael (Erin) Friedman, Jessica Friedman, Ryan Friedman all of Forrest, Konnor Friedman McDonald of Fairbury and one niece.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson: Klint Friedman, one brother, one sister, one niece and one nephew.



Mrs. Grieder worked for Nichols Homeshield in Chatsworth for 24 years before retiring.



She enjoyed baking sugar cookies for her family, playing bingo, Scrapbooking, crossword puzzles, antique shows, and garage sales. She especially loved her family and grandchildren.



Kathryn was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chatsworth.
