Obit of Jacquelyn (Danforth) Chatwood

PEORIA - Jacquelyn Danforth Chatwood, 87, died on June 5, 2016, at the Christian Buehler Memorial Home in Peoria. Jackie was born in Chatsworth, IL on December 5, 1928, the daughter of Wilmer E. and Adelia (Berlet) Danforth. Her mother died when Jackie was 10, and Jackie went to live with her aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and Lyle Danforth, in Saunemin IL. She graduated from Saunemin High School in 1946. Jackie then moved to Peoria to attend the Methodist School of Nursing from which she graduated in 1949 as an RN. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, her aunt and uncle, her daughter Toni Marie Siegle of Peoria, her sister Dorothy O'Connor of New York and her brother Robert Danforth of Peoria. She is survived by her daughters, Kristine Chatwood of Peoria, and Marty S. Chatwood of Seffner, FL; her grandson Bradley D. Siegle of Nashville TN; and her loving nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. Jackie worked as an RN for Drs. Cooley and Brandis and at the Medical and Surgical Clinic. In 1968 she joined Drs. Carl Adams and Robert Hertenstein when they opened their practice, Associated Surgical Group, in Peoria. She worked there until her retirement. At Jackie's request, there will be no service. Memorial contributions may be made to the no-kill animalshelter TAPS, 100 TAPS Lane, Pekin IL 61554. Jackie's family would like to thank the entire staff of the Nursing Center at Buehler Home for the loving and compassionate care they gave to her. Cremation has been accorded by Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services.

Obit of Velma L. (Ford) McCaskey

Velma L. McCaskey, 98, of Pontiac, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. at her home. Her service will be held Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with Pastor Roger Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Pontiac. Visitation will be Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home in Pontiac. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Velma was born January 8, 1918 in ¬Chatsworth, IL to Peter Andrew and Emily Isabel (Galloway) Ford. She married Myron E. McCaskey in August 1948. He passed away June 18, 1985. She is survived by her three children, E. Allen McCaskey of Pontiac, IL, Myron L. (Frances) McCaskey of Odell, IL, and David G. (Cindi) McCaskey of Euless, TX; one brother, James Ford of Des Plaines, IL; one sister, Dorothy Schell of Pontiac, IL; 11 grandchildren, Michelle McCaskey, Melissa McNeill, Meredith McCaskey, Brian McCaskey, Colleen Giszczak, Patrick McCaskey, Casey McCaskey, Sean McCaskey, Katrina McCaskey, Kelsi Kliment, and Michael McCaskey; and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Myron; two sisters, Gladys Sharp and Hazel Keith; and one brother, Floyd Ford. Velma graduated from Melvin High School and was a Cook for Pontiac Elementary Schools for over 30 years, volunteered for Meals on Wheels for over 20 years, and taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Obit of Roger E. Wilson


CHATSWORTH — Roger E. Wilson, 70, of Gold Canyon, Ariz., formerly of Chatsworth, passed away Monday (May 30, 2016) at North Valley Assisted Living, Phoenix, Ariz. He was born April 21, 1946, in Bloomington, the son of Virgil and Catherine Wilson. He married Betty Askew Wilson on Aug. 15, 1965. Roger was in the agricultural fertilizer, seed and chemical business with Kaiser/Estech and Vigoro Industries for more than 30 years in Illinois, Iowa and Indiana. Roger is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty; son, Michael (Melissa) Wilson, Bloomington; daughter, Tammy (Mark) Olson, Des Moines, Iowa; brothers, Larry (Jane) Wilson, Asheville, N.C., and Douglas (Darla) Wilson, Gridley; and four grandchildren, Peyton, Jacob, Sydney Wilson, and Taylan Olson. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Catherine Wilson of Gridley. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren and showed it by the example he set for them. His memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gold Canyon Methodist Church, Gold Canyon, Ariz. Memorials may be made to the Gold Canyon Methodist Church, Gold Canyon, Ariz.
