Obit of J.D. Berryhill

J.D. Berryhill, 74 of Chatsworth, passed away at 6:41 am, Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at his residence in Chatsworth after a long illness.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm, Monday, February 7, 2011 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Cremation rites will be accorded at the conclusion of the visitation.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family of J.D. Berryhill.

J.D. was born on September 4, 1936 in Smithville, Mississippi the son of Arville and Ollie (Vaughan) Berryhill. He married Dolores Taylor in 1956 they divorced in 1979. She survives in Chatsworth. His parents, one bother and one nephew preceded him in death.

Survivors include seven children; Mike (Lynn) Berryhill, Piper City; Jay Berryhill, Pontiac; Donna (Bart) Mitchell, Peotone; Brian Berryhill, Crete; Pam (Craig) Gaus, Buckingham; Julie Berryhill, Chatsworth; Jeff (Jessica) Berryhill, Saunemin; one brother, Ruble Berryhill, Alabama; two sisters, Dorothy Church, Illinois; Geraldine Michaels, Wisconsin; twenty grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

He was employed at Thrall Car Manufacturing as a welder and painter of Railroad Cars. Later became self employed as a mechanic & vegetable farmer. He had many interests in life including woodworking & gardening. His greatest love was fishing for catfish spending most of his free time fishing the Kankakee River.
