Obit of Myrl Louise Wagner

CHATSWORTH — Myrl Louise Wagner, 90, of Golconda died Thursday(Jan. 20, 2001) at Hardin County Hospital, Rosiclare.

Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Aly Funeral Home, Golconda,with the Rev. Grant Payne officiating. Burial will follow inProspect Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at thefuneral home. Memorial gifts may be made to the American CancerSociety, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718; MASH 62938,P.O. Box 545, Golconda, IL 62938; or Kingdom Hall of JehovahWitness, 1120 Johnson, Metropolis, IL 62960.

Myrl was born April 8, 1920, in Chatsworth, a daughter of the lateCarl and Louise Walter, and she grew up in Manitoba, Canada. Shemarried Doyle Robert Wagner on Nov. 4, 1939. He died April 18,1996, after 57 years of marriage.

Myrl is survived by two sons, Bob (Debbie) Wagner and Neil (Jill)Wagner; daughter-in-law, Christine (Jim Peppersack) Wagner, all ofGolconda; a son-in-law, Bill Griffin, Phoenix, Ariz.; sevengrandchildren, Rob Griffin and Becky (Griffin) Cholewonski,Phoenix, Ariz.; Angela (Charles) Barnes, Josh (Jessica) Wagner,Julie (John) Haner, Doyle C. Wagner and Wesley Wagner, all ofGolconda; nine great-grandchildren; four siblings, Bud (Katie)Walter, Don (Elsa) Walter, Viola (Herman) Calsbeck and Lea Allee;and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two children, Tim Wagner, Golconda,and Linda (Wagner) Griffin, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, MargMcCullough and Doris Strutz; three brothers-in-law, Russell Wagner,Ray Lubben and Joe McGuire; and a sister-in-law, EvelynMcGuire.

Myrl was a Jehovah’s Witness and faithfully attended Kingdom Hall,Metropolis. Her faith was a very important part of her life.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother andgreat-grandmother. She loved gardening, sewing and cooking.
