Obit of Margaret Heminover

SALEM — Margaret E. Heminover, 83, of Salem, formerly of Ottawa, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Doctors Nursing Home in Salem.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Salem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Doug Meyer officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home, 403 S. Broadway Ave., Salem.

She was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Chicago, to Simon and Thelma (Erickson) Johnson. She married Glenn Heminover Sr. Sept. 24, 1949, in Freedom Township.

She was the former co-owner of the Lakewood Motel in Salem and Peoples Cleaners in Chatsworth.

She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, Salem Republican Women's Club, Salem American Legion Auxiliary, Keep Salem Beautiful, Chamber of Commerse, Salem Lutheran Ladies Circle, Operation Pride and was a helper at Little Lamb Preschool. She was a former member of Salem's Women's Club.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Sr. of Salem; two sons, Glenn Jr. of Champaign and Mervin (Paula) of Salem; two daughters, Marjorie Bullard of Bloomington and Gail (Brad) Pate of Salem; one brother, Russell Johnson of Ottawa; and one sister, Clarice Abernathy of Ottawa.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Raider Johnson; and one sister, Selma Trumpeter.

Memorials may be directed to the Salem Lutheran Church Building Fund and may be sent to Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home.
