Obit of Gloria H. (Boone) Meister

GIBSON CITY— Gloria H. Meister, 94, of Gibson City, formerly of Chatsworth and Piper City, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Friday (April 22, 2016) at Heritage Health, Gibson City. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Gibson City Bible Church, Gibson City, with Pastor Paul Thomason officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Gibson City Bible Church. Burial will be in Chatsworth Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gibson City Bible Church or St. Amant Baptist Church. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Chatsworth, is handling arrangements for the family.
Gloria was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Utica, N.Y., a daughter of Harry V. and Susie Lenfest Boone. She married the Rev. Melvin J. Meister on Aug. 22, 1940, in Chicago. He passed away Feb. 22, 2004. She is survived by three daughters, Melody J. (Dell) Sackett and Coralyn G. (Ace) Webster, both of Camdenton, Mo., and Susie G. (Art) Kinzinger, Gibson City; two sons, Melvin J. (Linda) Meister Jr., St. Amant, La., and John D. (Jennifer) Meister, San Antonio, Texas; her grandchildren, Sharon (Lial) Zeedyk, Larry (Becky) Meister, Becky (Chuck) Smith, Steve (Lisa) Meister, Michael Sackett, Noah (Chris) Meister, Jeremy (Paula) Meister, Jonathan Meister, Stacy Webster, Joe (Holly) Webster, Jennifer (Chad) Casey, Robert (Jessica) Kinzinger and William (Kara) Kinzinger. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters; and one grandson, Luke Kinzinger. She served alongside her husband in ministry for more than 50 years. She counseled with people, regularly visited, and generously assisted those who were lonely, ill, elderly or in need. She loved the Lord Jesus, reading the Bible, singing, and sharing her faith with others. All who knew her well considered her a prayer warrior. She also loved cooking, sewing and painting.
