Obit of Kathryn (Kinsinger) Bayston



FLANAGAN — Kathryn Louise Bayston, 97, of Flanagan, formerly of Pontiac, passed away at 1:07 p.m. Saturday (March 7, 2015) at Good Samaritan Home in Flanagan. Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pontiac with the Rev. Mary Kay Henson officiating. Burial will be at Chatsworth Cemetery in Chatsworth. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Kathryn was born Dec. 24, 1917, in Pontiac, daughter of Edward and Barbara Garber Kinsinger. She married Vernon Bayston on Oct. 13, 1940, in Chatsworth. He passed away Feb. 27, 1987. She is survived by her two sons, Donald (Sandra) Bayston, Bourbonnais, and Fred (Alisa) Bayston, Normal; three daughters, Elizabeth Joyce, St. Robert, Mo.; Carol Pearce, Peoria; and Rose Mary (Gerald) Erickson, Pontiac; one sister, Margaret Dell, Florida; 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 41 greatgreat-grandchildren; and six great-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon; one son, Gordon Johnson Jr.; two sons-inlaw, Tom Joyce and Mike Pearce; three brothers; two sisters; and two great-grandchildren. Kathryn graduated from Chenoa Grade School and Chenoa High School, Class of 1935, and she attended University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Pontiac, and Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pontiac. She was a Cub Scout den mother in Kempton for several years. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Home, 205 N. Adams, Flanagan, IL 61740.
