Obit of Evelyn (Lang) Ortlepp

Chatsworth, Ill. —
Evelyn “Evie” Ortlepp, 86, of Chatsworth, died at 9:15 a.m. Thursday March 31, 2011, at the Piper City Rehab and Living Center, Piper City.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Chatsworth.
Interment will be in Chatsworth Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Martin Funeral Home, Chatsworth
She was born Nov. 14, 1924, at Piper City, the daughter of Edward and Bertha (Elliott) Lang. She married Neal D. Ortlepp May 17, 1942, at Cullom. He preceded her in death Sept. 11, 1988.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy (Larry) Gerdes, Chatsworth, and Sandra (Frank) McPherson of Tennessee; one son, Ronald (Joyce) Ortlepp of Tennessee; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean (Jim) Coyle of Florida; one brother, Merle (Pearl) Lang, Stewardson; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ortlepp was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and six sisters.
Evelyn was employed at Nichols Homeshield and as a clerk for Kelly’s Clothing in Chatsworth for many years.
Evelyn was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Chatsworth.
She enjoyed crafts, gardening and fishing. She was an avid Illini and Chicago Bears fan. She loved her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
She will be missed by everyone that knew her.
