Obit of Joseph G. Thompson



Joseph G. Thompson 64, Atlanta Ga. Died on Monday ,Feb. 25 in Miami, Fl.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday March 23 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Chatsworth, Il. The Rev. B.K. Tran officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemeter, Chatsworth, Il., where full military rights will be accorded. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service, Saturday at the church. Afterwards a luncheon will be served in the parish hall. Memorials in Joe's name may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and the Altar and Rosary Society or a donation to the charity of the person's choice.
Joe was born April 21, 1948 in Pontiac, Il., a son of Durward (Terry) and Mary Thompson.
Survivors include a twin brother, John and (Karla) Thompson, Canton, Ga., two nieces, Kelly Thompson, Acworth, Ga., and Jessica Thompson, Middleburg, Fl., and a nephew, John D. and (Heather Thompson, Canton, Ga.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Terry and Mary Thompson.
Joe was owner of Ponce de Leon counseling service in Atlanta, Marietta, Canton and Acworth, Ga. He served his country in the US Army from 1970-72. He received a BA degree from Illinois State University and a Masters degree from Georgia State University.
Joe loved his work, family, and meeting new people. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A special thank you to Father B.K. Tran and Eileen Weller for all the help and assistance in this sad time for our family.
