CHATSWORTH — Thomas Nance Runyon, 79, Elko, Nev., formerly of Chatsworth, died July 10, 2010, in Carson City, Nev. Cremation rites were accorded. A family celebration of Tom’s life will be at 4 p.m. Sept. 12 at CAPS Park, Chatsworth. Tom was born Feb. 23, 1931, in Cropsey. He married Marie Beck Poppel on May 29, 1953, in Joliet. He is survived by his wife, Marie; daughters, Terry (Lance) Anderson, Robyn Pattani, Lynda (Darren) Nadin and Dawnyce Schutz; one son, Jay (Denise) Runyon; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Shirley) Runyon, Larry (JoAnn) Runyon and Richard (Donna) Runyon, all of Chatsworth; Erney (Diana) Runyon, Heyworth; and Randy (Terri) Runyon, Cabot, Ark.; sisters, June Arnold, Roberts; and Barbara Black and Mary Hanshew, both of Chatsworth; one brother-in-law, Roy Garrett, Hudson; and many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Grace Nance and Erney Clifford Runyon; an infant son; stepsons, Larry and Garry Poppel; and sister, Sandra Garrett. Tom will be greatly missed by friends and family.
