Obit of Eleanor (Sterrenberg) Greuling

Eleanor S. Greuling of Carmel passed away Monday, July 9, 2018. She was born in Charlotte, Illinois in 1927, the youngest daughter of William and Auguste Sterrenberg. She was predeceased by her husband, John A. (Jack) Greuling, and is survived by her four children, Georgia Kuchen (Richard), Andy Greuling (Kim), Anne Peterson (Paul), and Jill Greuling. Jack and Eleanor have eleven grandchildren: Lea Incandela, Nissa Vrooman (David), Nick Holcomb, Elise King (Jon, deceased), John Kuchen (Kelly), Audrey Foley (Andy), John Greuling (Hilary), Megan Peterson, Sara Peterson, Eric Peterson and Tyler Newsome. They have twelve great-grandchildren: Cameron Holcomb, Maisy Holcomb, Makenzie Holcomb, Kyah Vrooman, Leo Vrooman, Ollie Incandela, Liam King, Cade Kuchen, Finley Mae Kuchen, John Foley, Piper Jill Foley and John A. Greuling. Eleanor loved best being with family and friends; she enjoyed volunteer work, travel, playing golf, playing cards, watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren compete in sports events, and watching Pacer games on TV. She worked in business during high school and college, and enjoyed working with Jack for many years in the business they founded together. Eleanor’s family would like to thank the caregivers at The Stratford, as well as those at St. Vincent’s Hospice. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 12, 2018, at 10am followed by a memorialservice at 11am at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Carmel where Eleanor has been a member since 1974.
