Gary D. Kinney, 70 of Chatsworth, IL, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 5:30PM at Piper City Rehab and Living Center, Piper City, IL. His funeral will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Chatsworth with Pastor Mauricio Vieira officiating. Burial will be in Chatsworth Cemetery, Chatsworth, IL. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00-8:00PM at the church. Memorials in Gary’s name may be made to the Chatsworth Fire Department or a charity of the donor’s choice. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Chatsworth is handling the arrangements. Gary was born on December 3, 1944 in Thomasboro, IL, a son of Basil and Maxine (Schroyer) Kinney. He married Linda Gerth on March 11, 1973 in Chatsworth, IL. Survivors include: Linda Kinney of Chatsworth, IL; two sons: Brad Kinney of Normal, IL and Tyler Kinney of Chatsworth, IL; two brothers: Lester Kinney of Sidney, IL and Larry Kinney of Loda, IL; one sister: Linda Walker of TN. Gary was educated in Paxton Schools and a graduate of Paxton High School. He was employed as a deputy with the Ford County Sherriff’s Dept. and later was head of the water and sewer dept. for the City of Chatsworth for 27 years. Gary was a volunteer fireman for the Chatsworth Fire Dept. for 37 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-Chatsworth.
