Obit of Phoebe L. (Harms) Miller



CHATSWORTH — Phoebe L. Miller, 96, of Chatsworth died at 6:45 a.m. Saturday (May 23, 2015) at Fairview Haven Retirement Community in Fairbury. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chatsworth with the Rev. Corinne Blissard officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in Chatsworth Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor’s choice. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Chatsworth is handling the arrangements for the family. Phoebe was born in Wing on Aug. 7, 1918, a daughter of John and Jessie Saathoff Harms. She married Gerald L. Miller on Sept. 25, 1940. He preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1993. Survivors include one son, Terry (Gail) Miller, Clarion, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Virginia Miller, Forrest; grandchildren, Andy (Kristi) Miller, Los Angeles; Joshua Miller, Chicago; Michael (Marcie) Miller, Charleston; Michelle (Gregg) Honegger, Forrest; Matthew (Tammy) Miller, Cabery; and Marcus (Alicia) Miller, Forrest; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eunice Rich, Fairbury. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Dale; brothers, George, Francis and Ralph; and sisters, Margaret, Edith and Ollie. Phoebe and Gerald enjoyed wintering in Florida.
