Obit of George A. Davis

VARNA — George A. Davis, 81, of Varna, passed away peacefully at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 24, 2015) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born May 9, 1933, in Waukesha, Wis., the son of John and Florence M. Muehl Davis. He married Judith Conibear on Jan. 27, 1963, in Chatsworth. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Maureen (David) Miller, Normal, and Suzanne (Mike) Schall, Cullom. Also surviving are five grandchildren, as well as one brother, John (Carol Ann) Davis, Newport News, Va., and one sister Barbara (Larry) Covili, Williamsburg, Va. One daughter, Barbara Dockery, and two brothers preceded him in death. A Korean conflict Army veteran, he was honorably discharged in April 1955. He then worked as a truck driver for many years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sparland. George was an amazing and loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all. Cremation rites will be accorded. A time to celebrate his life will be at 11 a.m. March 7 at First Baptist Church in Sparland. The Rev. Elaine Bolen will officiate. Visitation will be one half hour prior to his service. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given First Baptist Church in Sparland.
