Obit of Elsie M. (Dubree) Seegmiller


Elsie M. Seegmiller, 81, of Piper City, IL, died at 9:00 P. M., Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Piper City Rehab and Living Center, Piper City. Her funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the United Methodist Church, Piper City with Rev. Elizabeth Reis officiating. Burial will be in Brenton Cemetery, Piper City. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at United Methodist Church, Piper City. Memorials may be made to the Donor's Choice.
Elsie was born on February 13, 1931 in Forrest, IL., to J. L. & Flora (Ferguson) Dubree. Her childhood was spent in Kentucky, Forrest and Chatsworth. She attended schools in Chatsworth, IL. She married George B. Seegmiller on March 21, 1951 in Chatsworth. He died on March 24, 1980. Survivors include a daughter - Sheila Depler of Sesser, IL. Three grandchildren - Michael Depler of New Mexico, Holly Taylor and Chole Depler both of Sesser, IL. Two great grandchildren - Alyssa Overturf and Macey Taylor both of Sesser, IL. Two sisters - Gennieve Mylcraine and Barbara Rigsby both of Piper City. One brother - Roy Dubree of Boston, Kentucky. Several nieces and nephews. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law - Thomas Depler, two sisters - Gladys and Bernice and two brothers - Jess Dubree and Wayne Dubree.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Piper City. Elsie had worked at Henalds Factory in Piper City, Nichols-Homeshield in Chatsworth and also was a substitute cook for the Piper City schools. She was a member of the Piper City American Legion Auxiliary. Elsie enjoyed farming, fishing and attending auctions. Arrangements by the Reilly-Redenius Funeral Home in Piper City, IL.
