Fred L. Montag Sr., 76, of Chatsworth, IL passed away at 7:30 am on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at his home in Chatsworth.
A prayer service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Chatsworth with Father Scott Archer of Saint Andrew Parish officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home. Following the service, cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Fred was born June 1, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Ervin and Francis (Banas) Montag. He married Marilyn A. Janda on June 6, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are his children: Fred (Sharon) Montag Jr. of Villa Park, Illinois, Michelle (Barry) Montag Lowy of Springfield, Illinois and William Montag of Villa Park, Illinois; one daughter-in-law: Tina Montag of South Elgin, Illinois; his grandchildren: Samantha, Sarah, Abraham, Joshua, William Allen, Joseph, Ryan, and Alyssa; one sister: Patricia (Gene) Reinbacher of Lacon, Illinois; one brother: Gerald (Wendy) Montag of Naperville. He was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother: Donald Montag; one son: Daniel Montag; and one grandson: Tyler.
