Mary Ann Davis



Mary Ann Davis, who was affectionately referred to as Nan by everyone, made her way home Saturday (June 26, 2010), at the age of 82. She was born May 9, 1928, to Joseph and Mary Margaret Ortman Rebholz. She spent her younger years in the town of Chatsworth. Mary Ann married William Haberkorn, with whom she had three daughters, Kathleen and Thomas Sumrall, Sharon and Mark Lundahl and Sandra Mill, all of Bourbonnais. She later married Arthur Davis. She is also survived by two brothers and one sister-inlaw, Robert and Teresa Rebholz of Bourbonnais, and William Rebholz of Chatsworth. Mary Ann worked at Illinois Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator for 19 years, retiring in 1986. She then worked as a teller at the Illinois Bell Credit Union, retiring in 2004. She was a member of the Illinois Bell Pioneers and volunteered with that organization. Mary Ann was much loved by her grandchildren, Jennifer Lundahl, Christina Mill-Whitmer and Sharyn Whitmer, Matthew and Deanna Mill, Joe Sumrall and Caroline Sloarski and Christopher Sumrall. She cherished her greatgrandchildren, Jaeleigh Fritz, Skylar and Kennedi Seng, Devin Neal and Dylan Mill. She was also a great-greatgrandmother to Neviah Neal. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William Haberkorn; and her second husband, Arthur Davis. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Richard Pighini will officiate. Interment will be in Maternity BVM Cemetery, Bourbonnais. Memorials may be made to “All God’s Children Need Shoes” through Illinois Bell Pioneers.
