Lyle D. “Ike” Dehm, 91, of Chatsworth, IL passed away at 2:45 pm on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Chatsworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Roosevelt Smith officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will follow services at Chatsworth Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Chatsworth is handling arrangements for the family. Ike was born June 2, 1925 in Piper City, Illinois a son of William and Harriet (DeBoor) Dehm. He married Wilma Ferguson on September 15, 1945 in Chatsworth, Illinois. She passed on February 2, 2015. He is survived by his children: Angela (Tom) Melody of Chatsworth, IL and Jeffrey (Floral) Dehm of Chatsworth, IL; three grandchildren: Brad Dehm, Ashley Talleur, and Nicole Graham; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son: Eric Dehm, and four brothers: Weldon, Lloyd, Glen, and Leland Dehm. Ike attended Piper City Schools. Wilma and Ike owned and operated Westside Drive-in in Chatsworth, for five years prior to them having children. After that, Ike and Wilma owned and operated Dehm Bus Service for 63 years. Ike was a member of Chatsworth United Methodist Church. He was an avid collector of tractors, always buying, fixing, and driving them. Ike loved going to parades in the area and listening to music, especially the old time “jams” in the surrounding towns. He was known for his quick wit and storytelling. Ike was a loving dad, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed.
