Stephanie L. Buff, 60, of Chatsworth, IL passed away at 12:15 pm on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at her home in Chatsworth.
A prayer service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Chatsworth with Father Scott Archer officiating. A visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2014 and one hour prior to services on Friday all at the funeral home. According to her wishes, cremation rites will follow services, there will be no graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chatsworth Library.
She was born August 8, 1953 in Watseka, IL a daughter of Noble and Viola (DeSouza) Smith. Stephanie married Frankie Buff on April 29, 1972 in Onarga, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are her two sons: Joseph Buff of Gibson City and Jacob (Samantha) Buff of Chatsworth; one step grandson: Brody Emberton; four granddaughters: Haleigh Buff, Emma Trichel, Naomi Buff, and Summer Buff; her mother: Viola Smith of Gilman; her siblings: Carl Smith of Gilman, Jo Dickenson of Colorado, Donna Price of Gilman, and Elena (Doug) Stame of Naperville. She was preceded in death by her father: Noble Smith, who was a Prisoner Of War during WWII; one daughter: Sara Trichel; one granddaughter: Hannah Trichel; and one brother-in-law: John Dickenson.
In her younger years, Stephanie was a lead singer in a rock band, Breaze and always enjoyed music. She worked as a CNA at the nursing home in Piper City and a phlebotomist at Fairbury Hospital. Stephanie was an EMT for SELCAS for many years. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Chatsworth.
Above all else, she loved spending time with her grandchildren; they meant the world to her. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed.
