Ruth Leona King, 91, of Piper City, IL., died 9:28 P.M., Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at BroMenn Hospital in Normal, IL. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 27, 2017 at Living Word Church in Roberts, IL., with Pastor Douglas Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Chatsworth Charlotte Township Cemetery in Chatsworth, IL. Her visitation will be from 4 - 7:00 P.M., Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the Living Word Church in Roberts with an one hour visitation prior to the funeral service on Monday. Memorials may be made to Fairview Haven Nursing Home, 605 N. 4th Street, Fairbury, IL., 61739 or to the Samaritan's Purse, Box 3000, Boone, North Carolina, 28607. Ruth was born on February 8, 1927 in Fairbury to Joseph and Hermina (Miller) Zimmerman. She married Claude A. King on June 17, 1945 in Pekin, IL. He died on August 22, 1990. Surviving are four children - Judy (Gene) Adams of Arrington, TN., Lisa (Bruce) Fuoss of Chatsworth, IL., Bob (Marie) King and Brian (Lesley) King all of Piper City, IL. Nine grandchildren - Coury, Chanda, Brayden, Braxton, Alisha, Tasha, Seth, Joel and Hannah. Ten great-grandchildren - Ashton, Avery, Ayden, Jayda, Joshua, Nasja, Michael, Layni, Avelyn and Adaley. One brother - Robert (Lucy) Zimmerman of Bloomington. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters - Helen and Pauline and six brothers - Ralph, Gene, Lloyd, Harold, John and Ron Zimmerman. Ruth was a member of the Living Word Church in Roberts, IL. She loved to read her bible, praying for and with others, spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. Ruth volunteered over 40 years at the Piper City Rehab and Living Center in Piper City. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, Meme and friend; always thinking of others first.
