Obit of Loretta (Endres) Bode
GIBSON CITY — Loretta Bode, 87, of Gibson City, died at 6:35 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at the Heritage Health
Nursing Home in Gibson City.
A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Gibson City,
followed by a memorial mass at 11 a.m. with Father Thomas Theneth officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Township
Cemetery in Gibson City. Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City is assisting the family.
Mrs. Bode was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Chatsworth, a daughter of Charles V. and Mary Endres. She married Albert H.
Bode on Feb. 3, 1948, in Chatsworth. He died April 25, 1993.
Surviving are her children Marjorie (Jerry) Brown of Gibson City, James (Karen) Bode of Gibson City, John (Nancy)
Bode of Champaign, Robert (Cheryl) Bode of Gibson City, Ellen (Mark) Coons of Normal, Irene Bode of Rockville,
Md., and Wayne (Ann) Bode of Gibson City; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Davis of
Chatsworth.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, four brothers, two sisters and a greatgranddaughter.
Mrs. Bode was a very active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She also volunteered at the Heritage
Manor Nursing Home for many years and helped with delivering Meals on Wheels.
Memorial tributes may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, the Heritage Health Nursing Home or the
Alzheimer’s’ Association.
