The funeral for Mildred E. Propes, 87, of Chatsworth, will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Chatsworth, with Jerry Gentes, Minister of Pastoral Care officiating.
Burial will be in Chatsworth Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to service today at the church.

Mrs. Propes passed away at 11:04 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Piper City Rehabilitation Center in Piper City.
Mildred was born July 5, 1924, in rural Chatsworth, a daughter of Fred and Minnie (Grosenbach) Hornstein. She married Edmond Propes Oct. 27, 1945, in Chatsworth. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1987.
She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Darla Propes, Piper City; one sister, Lucy Haberkorn, Chatsworth; three grandsons, Kevin Propes, Corwith, Iowa, and Karl (Joann) Propes and Kreg Propes, both of Piper City; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, three sisters, two brothers and a granddaughter-in-law, Megan Propes.
Mildred was a homemaker her entire life.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Chatsworth, a 61-year member of the Chatsworth American Legion Auxiliary Post #613 and volunteered at Piper City Nursing Home for more than 25 years.
She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners, baking, sewing and being with her grandchildren and she loved Johnny Cash.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Piper City Rehab and Living Center.
