Obit of Kathryn A. Grieder

Kathryn A. Grieder, 91 of Chatsworth passed away at 12:01PM Wednesday February 23, 2011 at the Fairview Haven Nursing Home in Fairbury.



Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday February 26, 2011 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chatsworth with Jerry Gentes, Minister of Pastoral Care officiating. Visitation will be 4:00PM to 6:00PM Friday February 25, 2011 at the Martin Funeral Home in Chatsworth, and also one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, OSF Hospice or Fairview Haven Nursing Home in Fairbury. Interment will be at the Chatsworth Cemetery.



Kathryn was born July 15, 1919 in Piper City a daughter of Henry and Augusta (Meisenhelder) Gerdes. She graduated from Piper City High School, and married Cleotis Grieder, January 27, 1940 in Chatsworth. He preceded her death on June 18, 1988.



She is survived by: one daughter: Sandra (Richard) Friedman of Fairbury, one son: Donald “Donnie” Grieder of Chatsworth; Two grandchildren: Kevin Friedman of Fairbury and Krista Friedman of Heyworth; Five great-grandchildren: Janelle Rafferty of Tuscola, Michael (Erin) Friedman, Jessica Friedman, Ryan Friedman all of Forrest, Konnor Friedman McDonald of Fairbury and one niece.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson: Klint Friedman, one brother, one sister, one niece and one nephew.



Mrs. Grieder worked for Nichols Homeshield in Chatsworth for 24 years before retiring.



She enjoyed baking sugar cookies for her family, playing bingo, Scrapbooking, crossword puzzles, antique shows, and garage sales. She especially loved her family and grandchildren.



Kathryn was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chatsworth.

CHATSWORTH — Georgiana L. Moody, 59, Chatsworth, formerly of Decatur, passed away Tuesday (Feb. 22, 2011) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.



A private family service with private visitation to celebrate Georgiana’s life will be Saturday at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.

Georgiana was born Dec. 20, 1951, in Decatur, the daughter of George Albert and Jacqueline J. Higar Baum. She married James T. Moody on April 5, 1981. Georgiana worked at PTC Alliance in Fairbury as a crane operator. She was an avid camper and loved line dancing.



Georgiana is survived by her husband, James; daughters, Dawn Poling, Seymour, and Amanda Crispen, Dwight; father, George Albert Baum, Decatur; stepchildren, Michael (Ann) Moody, Chatsworth; Michele (Jeff) Slunder, Mount Zion; Jamie (Scott) Jefson, Shelbyville; and Justin (Candice) Moody, Cabot, Ark.; siblings, Clifton (Shirl) Baum, Latham; and Caryn (Tom) Gibson, Roger (Donna) Baum and Rebecca (Tony) Grietman, all of Decatur; and 18 grandchildren.



Georgiana was preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline, and one sister, Pamela.

BLOOMINGTON — Dawn R. Iler, 48, Bloomington, died at 7:20 p.m.Tuesday (Feb. 8, 2011) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal,surrounded by family and her closest friends.

Her family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday atCarmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington. A celebrationof Dawn’s life will be at Maguire’s Pub, 220 N. Center St.,Bloomington, immediately following the visitation at the funeralhome. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community CancerCenter, 407 E. Vernon Ave., Normal, IL 61761.

Dawn was born July 7, 1962, in Normal, the daughter of Glendon andPauline Tooley Iler.

She is survived by her parents, Bloomington; one sister, Dusti(Prentice) Kugler, Minneapolis, Minn.; two nieces, Rafferty andHattie Kugler; and many friends.

Dawn was a 1980 graduate of Bloomington High School. She was alicensed union plumber and worked out of Local 99 in Bloomingtonfor over 25 years. After being diagnosed with cancer, Dawn bravelyfought the disease and organized an annual golf outing and euchretournament to raise funds for the Community Cancer Center. She hasdonated $40,000 to date and there will be one more fundraiser inorder to reach her goal of $50,000.

Dawn loved her family and friends and lived her life for herclosest friends’ children and her two nieces. Aunt Dawnie will bemissed.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at AdvocateBroMenn Medical Center during her most recent stay in the hospital.They would also like to thank Dr. Migas, Dr. Stacey, Dr. Esch, BarbNathan, the nurses and all the staff at the Community Cancer Centerfor all their wonderful care and support throughout Dawn’sbattle.

Obit of J.D. Berryhill

J.D. Berryhill, 74 of Chatsworth, passed away at 6:41 am, Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at his residence in Chatsworth after a long illness.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm, Monday, February 7, 2011 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Cremation rites will be accorded at the conclusion of the visitation.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family of J.D. Berryhill.

J.D. was born on September 4, 1936 in Smithville, Mississippi the son of Arville and Ollie (Vaughan) Berryhill. He married Dolores Taylor in 1956 they divorced in 1979. She survives in Chatsworth. His parents, one bother and one nephew preceded him in death.

Survivors include seven children; Mike (Lynn) Berryhill, Piper City; Jay Berryhill, Pontiac; Donna (Bart) Mitchell, Peotone; Brian Berryhill, Crete; Pam (Craig) Gaus, Buckingham; Julie Berryhill, Chatsworth; Jeff (Jessica) Berryhill, Saunemin; one brother, Ruble Berryhill, Alabama; two sisters, Dorothy Church, Illinois; Geraldine Michaels, Wisconsin; twenty grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

He was employed at Thrall Car Manufacturing as a welder and painter of Railroad Cars. Later became self employed as a mechanic & vegetable farmer. He had many interests in life including woodworking & gardening. His greatest love was fishing for catfish spending most of his free time fishing the Kankakee River.
