Iler, 48, Bloomington, died at 7:20 p.m.Tuesday (Feb. 8, 2011) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal,surrounded by family and her closest friends. Her family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday atCarmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington. A celebrationof Dawn’s life will be at Maguire’s Pub, 220 N. Center St.,Bloomington, immediately following the visitation at the funeralhome. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community CancerCenter, 407 E. Vernon Ave., Normal, IL 61761. Dawn was born July 7, 1962, in Normal, the daughter of Glendon andPauline Tooley Iler. She is survived by her parents, Bloomington; one sister, Dusti(Prentice) Kugler, Minneapolis, Minn.; two nieces, Rafferty andHattie Kugler; and many friends. Dawn was a 1980 graduate of Bloomington High School. She was alicensed union plumber and worked out of Local 99 in Bloomingtonfor over 25 years. After being diagnosed with cancer, Dawn bravelyfought the disease and organized an annual golf outing and euchretournament to raise funds for the Community Cancer Center. She hasdonated $40,000 to date and there will be one more fundraiser inorder to reach her goal of $50,000. Dawn loved her family and friends and lived her life for herclosest friends’ children and her two nieces. Aunt Dawnie will bemissed. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at AdvocateBroMenn Medical Center during her most recent stay in the hospital.They would also like to thank Dr. Migas, Dr. Stacey, Dr. Esch, BarbNathan, the nurses and all the staff at the Community Cancer Centerfor all their wonderful care and support throughout Dawn’sbattle. |
