Obit of Roger E. Wilson

CHATSWORTH — Roger E. Wilson, 70, of Gold Canyon, Ariz., formerly of Chatsworth, passed away Monday (May 30, 2016) at North Valley Assisted Living, Phoenix, Ariz. He was born April 21, 1946, in Bloomington, the son of Virgil and Catherine Wilson. He married Betty Askew Wilson on Aug. 15, 1965. Roger was in the agricultural fertilizer, seed and chemical business with Kaiser/Estech and Vigoro Industries for more than 30 years in Illinois, Iowa and Indiana. Roger is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty; son, Michael (Melissa) Wilson, Bloomington; daughter, Tammy (Mark) Olson, Des Moines, Iowa; brothers, Larry (Jane) Wilson, Asheville, N.C., and Douglas (Darla) Wilson, Gridley; and four grandchildren, Peyton, Jacob, Sydney Wilson, and Taylan Olson. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Catherine Wilson of Gridley. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren and showed it by the example he set for them. His memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gold Canyon Methodist Church, Gold Canyon, Ariz. Memorials may be made to the Gold Canyon Methodist Church, Gold Canyon, Ariz.
