CHATSWORTH — Mildred Katherine Diller, 84, of Chatsworth, passed away at 4:23 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 5,
2015) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Chatsworth United Methodist Church, Chatsworth. Visitation will be
from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the church. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service Monday at the
church. Burial will follow service at Chatsworth Cemetery, Chatsworth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to S.E.L.C.A.S. or Chatsworth United Methodist
Church. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Chatsworth, is handling arrangements for the family.
Mildred was born June 9, 1931, in Charlottesville, Va., a daughter of Ashby and Martha Layman Fox. She
married James Diller on Feb. 20, 1954, in Greenwood, Va. He survives.
Also surviving are their four children, James Earl “Jed” (Kelly) Diller, Timothy Fox Diller, Katie Cavanagh
and David (Kay) Diller, all of Chatsworth; her grandchildren, AJ, Alex, Megan and Carly Diller; Matt
Cavanagh; Kacie (Nathan) Hunter; Adam (Jordi) Cavanagh; Kristin Diller; and Kari (Joel) King.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Samuel Fox; and one son-in-law, Daniel
Cavanagh.
Mildred was educated in the Greenwood, Va., area. She attended the William and Mary Women’s College
until she was old enough to go to nursing school at Grace Hospital in Virginia. She was a registered nurse
for a long time. She served on the trustee board at Fairbury Hospital. Mildred was previously president of
the Illinois Lung Association. She was a member of Chatsworth United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed playing bridge, euchre or any type of card games. Mildred also enjoyed traveling, the
mountains and warm weather. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly
missed.
