Obit of Glenn Heminover
SALEM — Glenn Heminover Sr., 88, of Salem, died at 11:35 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 19, 2015) at his home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1926, in Seneca, to Oscar R. and Wave Williamson Heminover. He married Margaret
E. Johnson on Sept. 24, 1949, in Freedom Township.
Survivors include sons, Glenn Heminover Jr., Champaign, and Mervin (Paula) Heminover, Salem;
daughters, Marjorie Bullard, Salem, formerly of Bloomington, who was his loving caregiver, and Gail (Brad)
Pate, Salem; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; and five siblings, Ora Bogren, Oscar
Heminover, Clarissa Osmunson, Evelyn Slafer and Wilma Loomis.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Salem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Doug Meyer officiating. Burial
will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. Military rites will be accorded by the Salem American Legion.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Glenn served during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He was the owner of Lakewood Motel in Salem and
Peoples Cleaners in Chatsworth for several years. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and
Salem American Legion.
Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church or SSM Hospice.
