Obit of O. Leroy "Sonny" Bargman

O. Leroy “Sonny” Bargman, 90. of Chatsworth, passed away at 9:02 AM Friday March 15, 2013, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Gibson City, IL.

His funeral will be at 2:00 PM Sunday March 17, 2013 at the Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Chatsworth, Jerry Gentes, Minister of Pastoral Care will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chatsworth Cemetery with military rites by Walter Clemmons American Legion Post #613. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or OSF Hospice. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Chatsworth is handling the arrangements.

Sonny was born on May 4, 1922 in Piper City, IL. a son of Otis E and Margretha (Folkerts) Bargman. He Married Georgianna Henry on June 3, 1944 in Superior, OH., she survives.

He is survived by his wife, Georgianna. His sister: Mary Hornickel of Chatsworth, IL.,
Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, five sisters and one brother.

Sonny was raised on a farm before serving our country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He worked for Diller Tile from 1946 until 1972 and then drove a truck as an owner-operator for Chicago- St. Louis Transport until retiring in 1984. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Walter Clemmons American Legion post #613 in Chatsworth.
