CHATSWORTH — Robert Lee Drauden, 73, Chatsworth, passed away Saturday (March 16, 2013) at Fairview Haven, Fairbury.
Born June 23, 1939, in Bend, Ore., Robert was a son of the late Elmer and Mabel Johnson-Drauden.
He was a graduate of Joliet Central High School and entered the U.S. Navy, where he honorably served for four years.
On Sept. 5, 1964, Robert married Jean White Alexander McEvoy in Glasgow, Scotland, and together they lived in Coal City, and most recently Chatsworth.
In 1966, Robert gained employment with Commonwealth Edison, from where he retired in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; two sons, Gordon (Melody) Drauden and Mark Drauden; granddaughter, Rachel Drauden; and one sister, Elmerine Vest.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Connie Melvin.
Cremation rites have been accorded per the wishes of the family. Military honors and inurnment will be at a later date in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
Cremation services and arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Reeves Funeral Homes Ltd., Coal City.
