Pontiac, Ill. —
Richard E. Hahn, 91, of Pontiac and formerly of Saunemin, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
His Funeral Mass will be at noon Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Pontiac, with Father David Sabel officiating.
Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Chatsworth.
Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11:45 a.m. at the Duffy-Baier Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac.
He was born Jan. 8, 1920, in Chicago, the son of Richard E. and Lulu (Kane) Hahn. He married Ora Jean Dick on Nov. 21, 1942, in Cullom. She preceded him in death on March 10, 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Richard “ Skip “ (Dorothy) Hahn, Dwight, and James B. Hahn, Saunemin; one daughter, Sharie (Philip) Metcalf, Brimfield; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
His parents and one brother, Harry Hahn, also preceded him in death.He was educated in Saunemin High School and attended the University of Illinois in Champaign.
Mr. Hahn worked as a quality control supervisor at Pittsburgh Tube in Fairbury, and was a lifelong farmer in the Saunemin area.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pontiac.
Richard was also a member of the Pontiac Elks and past member of the Pontiac Moose Lodge.
