From Chatsworth Illinois Memories From the Morris Daily Herald Kuntz to turn 100 on Dec. 14 Frank B. Kuntz of Monticello will celebrate his 100th birthday with an open house hosted by his family. The open house will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13, at the St. Philomena Catholic Church Parish Hall, 1301 N. Market Street, Monticello. All family and friends are invited. Mr. Kuntz was born Dec. 14, 1909, on a farm west of Sibley, a son of Albert and Selma (Schroen) Kuntz. He married Leona Falck on Oct. 16, 1937. She passed away on Oct. 29, 1999. He has five children: James (Rolande) Kuntz of Sandwich, Gary (Judy) Kuntz of Morris, the late David (Sally) Kuntz of Glen Ellyn, Jane (Tony) Trotto of Wood Dale, and Janice (Ted) Gill of Monticello; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Mr. Kuntz graduated from the University of Illinois in 1933. He taught and coached elementary and high school in Thawville, Chatsworth and Morris until June 1972, when he retired to Urbana. He served in Europe during World War II as a Major in the U.S. Army. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army Reserve in 1969.
