Jerry L. Fairley, 70, of Pontiac, passed away at 1:18 pm on Friday, May 18, 2018 at OSF St. James - John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac. His funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac, with Rev Tom Goodell officiating. Burial will follow in Avoca Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be from 9-11:00 am Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Walter-Clemons American Legion post 613 in Chatsworth. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac is handling the arrangements. Jerry was born in Fairbury, IL on August 7, 1947 a son of Leonard and Mildred (Sharp) Fairley. He married Laurel Rockenbach on August 29, 1981, she survives. Also surviving are two sons: Justin (Mellisa) Fairley of Abilene, Tx, Jason (Melissa) Bundy of Holden, MO; two step sons: David (Dawn) Hanson of Pontiac, IL, Douglas Hanson of Tucson, AZ; one step daughter: Laurie (Richard) Terven of Bloomington; five grandchildren; one sister: Bonnie (Ken) Easton of Roberts, IL; one sister in law: Carol Flessner of Pontiac, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Roger and John Fairley. Jerry served in the US Army during Vietnam, he was a member of Walter-Clemons American Legion post 613 in Chatsworth. He was an avid cub’s fans, enjoyed golfing and fishing, working on antique cars, and riding motorcycles, and was a private pilot. He loved his dog Bernie and loved spending time with his family.
