Obit of Mildred Pauline (Brantley) Edwards
CHATSWORTH — Mildred Pauline Edwards, 88, of Pontiac, formerly of
Chatsworth, died at 7:19 p.m. Tuesday (July 14, 2015) at OSF Saint Francis
Medical Center, Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded. Her memorial
service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Chatsworth United Methodist
Church with Joan Haren officiating. A visitation will be held for one hour
prior to the service Sunday at the church. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home,
Chatsworth, is handling the arrangements. Memorials in Pauline’s name
may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Pauline was born on June
15, 1927, in Cullom, a daughter of Oliver Austin and Maggie Margaret Lee
McNeely Brantley. She married Allen Chester Edwards on Nov. 18, 1953, in
Chatsworth. He preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1987. Survivors include
one daughter, Vicki (Rick) Allen, Cullom; one son, Allen C. (Tina) Edwards,
Branson, Mo.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three
stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie
Newton, Riverside, Calif.; one brother, Douglas Brantley, Kempton; one
sister-in-law, June Edwards, Pontiac. Pauline was preceded in death by one
daughter, Paula Sue; one sister; and two brothers. Pauline helped her
husband on the family farm and was a waitress at Hick's Plaza Restaurant in
Gilman. She also worked at Reiger Coil Factory. Pauline was a member of
the Chatsworth United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women of the
church and involved for several years with Charlotte Home Extension. This
