CHATWORTH -- Larry and MaryAnn Boruff of Chatsworth celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house Saturday (Jan. 22) at the American Legion.

Boruff and MaryAnn Hitch were married Jan. 10, 1961, at the Methodist Church in Chatsworth. Their attendants were Bonnie Eastin and Stephen Hitch.

They are the parents of Vicki (Sadat) Mostafa of Bloomington and Corinne (Jack) Wortz of Delaware, Ohio.

They have three grandchildren.

He works for Quanex Homeshield. She retired in 2010.

Myrl was born April 8, 1920, in Chatsworth, a daughter of the lateCarl and Louise Walter, and she grew up in Manitoba, Canada. Shemarried Doyle Robert Wagner on Nov. 4, 1939. He died April 18,1996, after 57 years of marriage.

Myrl is survived by two sons, Bob (Debbie) Wagner and Neil (Jill)Wagner; daughter-in-law, Christine (Jim Peppersack) Wagner, all ofGolconda; a son-in-law, Bill Griffin, Phoenix, Ariz.; sevengrandchildren, Rob Griffin and Becky (Griffin) Cholewonski,Phoenix, Ariz.; Angela (Charles) Barnes, Josh (Jessica) Wagner,Julie (John) Haner, Doyle C. Wagner and Wesley Wagner, all ofGolconda; nine great-grandchildren; four siblings, Bud (Katie)Walter, Don (Elsa) Walter, Viola (Herman) Calsbeck and Lea Allee;and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two children, Tim Wagner, Golconda,and Linda (Wagner) Griffin, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, MargMcCullough and Doris Strutz; three brothers-in-law, Russell Wagner,Ray Lubben and Joe McGuire; and a sister-in-law, EvelynMcGuire.

Myrl was a Jehovah’s Witness and faithfully attended Kingdom Hall,Metropolis. Her faith was a very important part of her life.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother andgreat-grandmother. She loved gardening, sewing and cooking.

He was born March 9, 1945, in Kankakee, the son of Edward and Jennie Bruns Harms.

CHATSWORTH — Howard R. “Bud” Diller Jr., 63, Chatsworth, died at3:30 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 18, 2011) at OSF Saint Francis MedicalCenter, Peoria.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be at 1p.m. Sunday at the Martin Funeral Home, Chatsworth, with NickNissen officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hourof service Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials in Bud’s name may be left to the Chatsworth TownshipLibrary or the Chatsworth Fire Department.

Bud was born May 16, 1947, in Fairbury, a son of Howard and OliviaKay Diller Sr. He married Dona Wochner on June 26, 1971, inChatsworth.

He is survived by his wife, Dona Diller, Chatsworth; his children,Bryan (Kelly) Diller, Champaign, and Deanne Burnett, Chatsworth;four grandchildren, Tyler Burnett, 11; Ashley Burnett, 9; GracieDiller, 8; and Logan Diller, 3; and his brother, Richard (Debbie)Diller, Madison, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, LynnDiller.

Mr. Diller graduated from Chatsworth High School and attendedIllinois State University. He was a truck driver for Diller Tileand later Prinsco Tile in Chatsworth. He enjoyed playing cards andreading and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Eric Weller Age 38 died Monday, January 10, 2011, in Puyallup at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born May 15, 1972 in Fairbanks, Alaska. He is preceded in death by his younger brother, Gregg Weller; grandfathers Edward Schmid and Tony Weller, and grandmother Mary Weller. Surviving are his wife, Lisa Weller, and son, Tavis Mischel, both of Orting, WA; parents, Alice (Mike) Johnson CHS 71 of Lake Tapps, WA and Paul (Phyliss) Weller CHS 69 of Rougemont, NC; and younger brother Gary (Amanda) Weller of Woodstock, IL. He also leaves behind many cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and many, many friends and family across the country. Eric's interests included photography, custom web and print design, and building custom furniture. SALEM — Margaret E. Heminover, 83, of Salem, formerly of Ottawa, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Doctors Nursing Home in Salem.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Salem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Doug Meyer officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home, 403 S. Broadway Ave., Salem.

She was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Chicago, to Simon and Thelma (Erickson) Johnson. She married Glenn Heminover Sr. Sept. 24, 1949, in Freedom Township.

She was the former co-owner of the Lakewood Motel in Salem and Peoples Cleaners in Chatsworth.

She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, Salem Republican Women's Club, Salem American Legion Auxiliary, Keep Salem Beautiful, Chamber of Commerse, Salem Lutheran Ladies Circle, Operation Pride and was a helper at Little Lamb Preschool. She was a former member of Salem's Women's Club.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Sr. of Salem; two sons, Glenn Jr. of Champaign and Mervin (Paula) of Salem; two daughters, Marjorie Bullard of Bloomington and Gail (Brad) Pate of Salem; one brother, Russell Johnson of Ottawa; and one sister, Clarice Abernathy of Ottawa.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Raider Johnson; and one sister, Selma Trumpeter.

Memorials may be directed to the Salem Lutheran Church Building Fund and may be sent to Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home.

Evelyn L. Rebholz, 86, of Piper City, died at 6:35 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 8, 2011) at the Piper City Rehab & Living Center. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Reilly-Redenius Funeral Home, Piper City, and from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Piper City, where she was a member, until the 10:30 a.m. funeral service. The Revs. Elizabeth Reis and Richard Brunskill will officiate.

Burial will be in Chatsworth Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Piper City Rehab & Living Center, the United Methodist Church, Piper City, St. Peter's Catholic Church, Piper City, or to the donor's choice.

Mrs. Rebholz worked at Sauerbier Drug Store following high school and then for George Cook Monarch Grocery which later became Cooks IGA grocery, working for 30 years. She also worked for Culkin Grocery in Chatsworth for a period of time, as well as working seasonally for Producers Seed Company in Piper City and Polo. She owned a gift and hobby shop in Piper City in the mid and late '50s. She was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Piper City, the daughter of Erwin and Verna Meisenhelder Law. She was a 1943 graduate of Piper City High School. She lived in the Piper City area her entire life except for 2 1/2 years in Polo in the early '50s when her husband, Jerome, was a branch manager of Producers Seed Company-Blackhawk Division. She enjoyed working with people and delivered Meals on Wheels. She did extensive traveling over the years in the United States and Hawaii. Other activities and interests included bowling, boating and golfing, as well as being active in the Circle 8 Square Dance Club for many years. She very much enjoyed sewing and craft work, plus developing and maintaining yearly photo albums of travel, work and activity interests. She also devoted her time to doing activities with her nieces and nephews. She will be missed.

Surviving are her husband, Jerome J. Rebholz, whom she married Feb. 15, 1947, at St. Peter's Parsonage, in Piper City; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Doris Law Smith and Dorothy "Dottie" Law Walle.

Jayne Laverne Tallman Brunskill was born Sept. 1, 1915, in Pontiac,a daughter of Albert and Florence Solma Tallman. She married ByronBrunskill in February 1936. He preceded her in death March 3,1977.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Brunskill, Piper City; twosons, Craig (Maria) Brunskill, Normal, and the Rev. RichardBrunskill, Piper City; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;one sister, Vernette; one brother, Richard; nieces and nephews; andmany good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother andone sister.

After raising her three children, Jayne pursued a career as aphlebotomist for nearly 20 years, before becoming a licensedpractical nurse in 1978.

She worked at St. James Hospital, Asta Care, Piper City NursingHome and two places in Fairbury, Fairview Haven Nursing Home andthe offices of Drs. Langstaff and Mosciski. She retired from thenursing profession in 1995.

She was a woman of great faith, helping to start the PerpetualAdoration Society at St. Mary’s Church, and working tirelessly atGrace Episcopal Church for many years before she became Catholic —along with Bryon and Richard — in 1974. Jesus was the center of herlife and faith.

Craig was born June 9, 1951, in Fairbury, a son of Dayo and Joy Dickman Thompson. He married Alma K. Wilson on Dec. 27, 1970, in Foosland.

He is survived by his wife, Alma; one son, Christopher (Kristi) Thompson of Melvin; two daughters, Cookie (Ryan) Dalton of Springfield, Mo., and Andria (Travis) Downey of Marseilles; eight grandchildren, Jamie, Mackenzie, Haley, Zakkeri, Sasha, Skylar, Alison and Danika; four brothers, Mark (Christine) Thompson of Watseka, Eric (Jane) Thompson of Melvin, Kevin (Sue) Thompson of Port Byron, Shawn (Amy) Thompson of Parish, Fla., one sister, Lisa (Kevin) Krall of Dewey; and his father, Dayo Thompson of Paxton.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and a grandson, Craig.

Craig served in the Marines. He worked for Central Soya, Marseilles Sheet Metal and for Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 1, Local 73 and Local 265 as a certified welder. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed collecting rare steins and belt buckles. He was known for his prized Camaros.

RANTOUL – David E. Gerdes, 59, of Peoria, formerly of Rantoul, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 9, 2010) at the Piper Rehab & Living Center in Piper City.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 14) at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Chatsworth, with Jerry Gentes, minister of pastoral care, officiating. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday prior to services at the church. Interment will be at the Chatsworth Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Chatsworth American Legion Post 613.

Arrangements are being handled by Martin Funeral Home, Chatsworth.

David was born April 16, 1951, in Fairbury, a son of Leo and Mellicent (Blair) Gerdes. He graduated from the Chatsworth High School, Class of 1969.

He is survived by three brothers, Dale Gerdes of Chatsworth, Steve Gerdes of Ironwood, Mich., and Brian Gerdes of Rantoul; one sister, Marlene (Ed) Clampitt of Rantoul; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister, Diana Kay.

He had served in the Illinois National Guard.

Mr. Gerdes enjoyed reading, the Chicago Cubs and visiting the Amish country with his father.

David was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Chatsworth and the Chatsworth Alumni Association.
